The calypso chicken is incredible. Lots of sauce and very tender.

The jerk chicken falls off of the bone and has a great balance between spiciness and flavor.

Jerk chicken was the best chicken I've ever had! Awesome atmosphere. Food cooked by owner with love.

P.S. They catered a big lunch for two friends of mine who were married a few months ago and the quality was still top notch so if you're looking for a caterer, Chez Max is great.

They have both, right in the same dish or on the same plate.

There are house-made bottles of hot sauce on each table if you want that extra flavour punch to the face.

Warm, inviting atmosphere, and friendly customer service. My only regret is not dining at Chez Max sooner. The location is 'tucked away' under the River Parl Glen apartments (known locally as 'the towers').

The atmosphere in Chez Max is a lot of fun. What do I mean by that? Well, there's always good music playing and while I don't listen to Reggae music in my free time, it just adds to the atmosphere in a good way. Often you can hear tunes that you recognize but they've been re-done in the Reggae style. The decor is great. There's little Jamaican phrases painted here and there and the walls are painted to give you the impression that you're in a beach restaurant in Jamaica with a view of the ocean.

What a wonderful place, I came in to grab dinner to take home and came back for lunch the next day, had a delicious Bob Marley birthday lunch of Rasta Pasta. The owner and staff are amazing, highly recommend this place

The beef patties are soft and fresh with a nice flaky crust.

Chez Max is one of the best restaurants in Fort Mcmurray if not the best because not only is the food great, the whole experience is positive.

Today was my first visit to Chez Max for lunch. The jerk chicken was excellent, the spicing leaving my mouth simmering by end of the meal, but not hurt. (it was perfect). The coffee served was also terrific. I'm mindful of the ready to go prepackaged meals that would be perfect to take to work. Quality, good, good, food at a reasonable price.

I enjoy spicy and flavourful food and sometimes when you eat out, you get one or the other. Not so at Chez Max!

The curried goat is rich and lean with big chucks of meat.

The scotch bonnet wings are fat and pack some heat but they're not insane.

I've been eating at Chef Max since just after it opened a few years ago. I was impressed by the portion sizes and the flavor right off the bat. The owners also took time to chat with me and have done so each time.
